An extension cord to the neighbors house trick works also. Back in the day when utility companies would give out security tags to electricians because some houses did not have traditional shut offs, they would just pop out the meter and then pop it back in when the work was done. Sometimes a hacksaw blade broken in half would go back in. Some current would still go through the meter, and turn so the meter reader would not be suspicious, but most current would flow through the alloy steel blades. I am sure there are still many of those out there like that!

I once visited a friend who had a workshop in his cellar. On the opposite wall was his electricity meter and he'd done a bypass using two uninsulated knitting needles, they were glowing a dull red.

I left  :phew:

Wondering why always free energy is related to coils. Like there is some magic in them  :-DD
