Title: ST.com
Post by: stj on January 29, 2019, 02:36:54 pm
am i the only one (other than dave) who is absolutely sick of this company refusing to allow software downloads without an email address?
even that wont work now.
i spent the last 24 hours going round in circles. |O
request the file - give the email, validate the email, click the download, get fucked back to the begining with an email request!!!  >:(
it's an endless pointless loop.

someone needs to rehost atleast some of the stuff - like stlink related tools.

while it is a bit annoying having to sign up to I don't think I've ever had any problems with STs site

maybe you didnt read,
i have a damned email address.
they sent the damned email,
i clicked on the link in the damned email.
it didnt validate shit - just asked my for an email again.

i dont know if they are using cookies, i.p. or what - but it clearly isnt reliable.
for the record, it all worked fine last month with the same browser, email etc.

I've had weirdness with the ST site before. Wiping the st.com cookies has always fixed it for me.

lol.

well anyway, i got the file.
stupid site must be coded by a college student in deli using buzzwords!!!  >:D

it does NOT work in:
original Opera 12.xx
latest Opera <<< based on Chromium.
latest Waterfox <<< based on Firefox.

it did work with Konqueror.

compatability is clearly not ST's strongpoint.
i may waste some time later to try some other browsers like Brave & Firefox
