^^^^^ Amazing how they got the exact same wrinkles on both pieces of tape, too ...

What's wrong with that picture? :)

I'm sure Photonicinduction would see that as a challenge for peak output, input power might will exceed the spec.  >:D

That's doable.  5000W = 100volts ^2 / 2 ohms  (P=V^2/R).  For a short time period a simple film capacitor could output 5000W easily.

The sparks in the picture though :D

Maybe they're being honest. On Ali you'd get perfectly silver and shiny parts but actually receive things that look like that and be pissed.

Honesty in advertising!

That way they won't get any returns.

^^^^^ Hmm; I think that falls under the heading of "jokes that nerds will get but that everyone else will take seriously".

"Can you refill my PC's thermal paste?"
"Uh, what?"
"Yeah, I saw this post on X that said I should check my computer's thermal paste and have it refilled."
"Oh. Sure, we can do that. It'll only cost you $_______/_______€."

This reminds me of the oil wells used on old machinery. Perhaps electronics cooling systems will use thermal paste as the heat carrier in future fluid-cooled systems?  :-DD
Hehe, spooked my friends with an exploding electrolytic capacitor the other day 😁.

Indeed it seems to be a simple meme. Just like the blinker fluid refill or the "christmas edition" gasoline (the green pump that is, in fact, diesel)

Oh, the "whys" of the datasheets... The information is there not to be an axiomatic truth, but instead each speck of data must be slowly inhaled while carefully performing a deep search inside oneself to find the true metaphysical sense...

Today's winner. A component manufacturer supplying rotary encoders. Just make it fit and if required just drill some holes.

I've done worse on protoboard.  >:D   Not a good look for a product photo though - it shrieks "We are too cheap to get a sample PCB from the likes of JLPCB" and makes you wonder what other 'cost savings' they are making.  :scared:

It is a protoboard. Where holes may or may not match to advertised encoder pins. Of course this is a bad choice of board. Encoder manufacturer certainly have some testing board in their R&D lab that look more adequate.

I can live without better ray tracing in my 4K video game graphics
the overpriced PS5 pro is less of a console for the average playstation gamer IMO

Typical generative AI.
You can test stuff like this using the following, it's free: https://perchance.org/ai-text-to-image-generator

For sure generative AI is going to make this thread reach a whole new level, even if it's not as fun IMO as it's not actually failed or just slightly modified photos, but completely made up ones. But we're likely to see this in various ads soon enough.

Attached is an example of what is supposed to be a woman soldering. You get something that looks impressive from afar, but makes almost zero sense. That's fun though.

That soldering image must be an early effort. I think the AI image generators have moved beyond the "6 fingers" stage by now, since it was such a frequent and obvious problem.

They have not really moved to a stage where they understand the underlying semantics, rather than treating everything as "just imagery". In the guitar pedal image above, the image generator even takes liberties with the letter shapes, making up some of its own letters.
