tl;dw I am a YouTuber, I am above the pleb.

If you consider 17 mins “long”, you are ironically epitomising the very things he’s describing.

I tried to count the number of times that he snorfuled his nose up with free hand.

(But I'm into metadata like that, so...)

If you can’t see past common mannerisms, well you’ve not even tried. Maybe his wisdom is beyond you. Fair enough.

Comments here only serve to reinforce the very lack of wisdom referred to in the video. Utter irony.

Lack of wisdom?  :P
I told my friends I could teach them to be funny, but they all just laughed at me.

I made 3 mins before just getting fed up with the ramble.

Would have been easier if he hadn't chosen the worst place in his house for acoustics. Plus actually prepared himself so there wasnt just a rambling mess. Also I assume he is social media icon so has the pressure to post lots of crap sorry content.

BTW I have had many effective information exchanges with people in less than 15 seconds. Get your mind out of the gutter.

Anyhow, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Gat as far as the transcript before deciding not to hit play (I have things to do today. Maybe I'll empty the bins or something)

Consider that comment #1 on the vid is from unlokia "I’m sharing this far and wide, since you think exactly as I do", and unlokia is a sock-puppet account for a banned user I expect OP is another sock-puppet.

Well, one may not like his touching his hair every single second or other stuff like that, but what he says is not particularly gibberish. I tend to agree with the OP about people being quickly judgmental about appearances without going any further.

With that said, I admit I didn't find the time to watch it all, just some pieces here and there. It's not hugely deep (IMO), but not stupid or gibberish either.

What I do think about wisdom vs. knowledge is that, yes, in some way, the more knowledge we have and mostly the more easy/profuse access to it we have, and the least likely we are to make good use of it, which is what we can currently witness in the world as it has become (with the Internet.) Which, btw, may partially answer the other thread about having free access to everything.

Now, as I have only watched short pieces of that, I can in no way tell if that's what he was really on about too. So, disclaimers. I may have overestimated the depth. But just thought the idea of what was being discussed was not useless or dumb.

If you consider 17 mins “long”, you are ironically epitomising the very things he’s describing.

It could have been said in one sentence:
"Uninstall the social media Aps and read some books."

That said, it wasn't too terrible at 1.5x speed with it scrolled down so that I couldn't see the video portion.

   Lezginka:
He was...Wearing shorts...or at least had 'bare' legs, ...or one.  That's because, every so often, between the 'LIKE's crude mannerisms, the nose wiping, upwards, every few minutes, you can see a bit of bare leg, there, at bottom of screen.
Wise folks like me can comment on 'personal mannerism' deficits, as ourselves are black ng those imperfections.

See again, you’re rushing and trying to “condense” a topic which he took the time to explain in detail. Life ain’t all about rushing.

So look away and use your ears. You seem to be determined to miss the point (which makes me wonder why you are commenting on it; if you don’t care about his points, don’t make weak, childish comments and his appearance. Just walk away. I’d respect you more if you were more tactful and didn’t attack someone based on his appearance).

The childish and highly ignorant replies to this thread simply serve to show that people don’t like facing up to things which may cut a little to close to home for them.

Certain mannerisms make it very difficult to listen to people, or take them seriously. I understand that some are out of habit, others out of nervousness, lack of preparedness etc... etc... but it still doesn't make it any easier for the person listening.

The same can be said for people that say "umm" a lot.

Maybe I'm being unfair, but that's just how I operate. It shouldn't take 17 minutes to get to a rather simple point... unless his videos are monetised, then sure... I can see why it's drawn out.

I'm the kind of person that does have wisdom. My biggest piece of life advice: "Don't be a dickhead".

Nope. I listened to the whole thing at a speed that was comfortable for me. It was pretty repetitive and it has been said by many others ad nauseam.
That's the thing though. He didn't really explain anything in detail and there was actually very little information in that 17 minutes.
I actually agree with him about social media "forcing" people to create lame content for clicks/money. So listening to his drawn out video about something I could have read in under 2 minutes was a bit ironic.  ::)
