Sun storm.

Looks like there is/are/have been one or two CME (Coronal Mass Ejections) on the sun.
Aurora predictions are pretty good for those in the right parts of the world, including southern Australia.

Not sure what it means for electrical/electronic infrastructure but there is a warning out.

It was a pretty big one - the storm hit yesterday, got up to Kp 8 twice.  It's been in recovery for the last ~12 hours though, shouldn't see any more problems (if you saw any to begin with).

I was a bit out of breath once I'd got to the top rung that's for sure. Ctrl-alt-del didn't work, big red switch was needed.

Yeah I noticed ips.gov.au has been slow the last few days due to all the solar storms etc... I guess they don't have the bandwidth to cater for such a large audience. Considering the aurora was sighted in North Sydney, I suppose it's a bit out of the ordinary.
