So I have an updated power supply board on my bench, feeding it 33v in and taking 5.25v @ 8.5A - it's worst case load in real life. It's been running for a little while and the test is just to measure the temp rise and check all is OK with it. So far so good.
So it's sitting on my left about half way down the bench working away, I am on the computer at the end of the office. Now I need to check something at the other end of the bench, so I simply push my chair backwards (t's on castors) to slide to the other end of the office, as I do many times a day (it's a small office). As the chair rolls over a sheet of bubble wrap on the floor, the loud fast popping sound has be diving for the bench PSU powering my board thinking it has just failed in a very spectacular way.
I almost made it to the bench PSU too, now have to tidy up everything I knocked over on the way down.
Now the adrenaline is returning to normal, I feel the need for more tea.
So, be warned people, bubblewrap is dangerous...
