SwiftKey now free
« on: June 12, 2014, 10:09:21 pm »
Heads up those that have an android phone;SwiftKey is now free.  Back when they added the swipe feature  it was pretty rubbish.  Recently, I've been frustrated with the slow bloated  feeling of Swype so I thought I would give SwiftKey a try again. So far I'm much more impressed. It seems much more responsive and at least as accurate as Swype.  Frankly, it feels a bit like what Swype had to be before it was taken over.

OMG they so totally ruined Swype.  I'll give Swiftkey a shot.

FWIW Google's default android keyboard also does this and is also available as a free app in the play store.

It's not the same, Google Keyboard has the swipe feature but it is nowhere near as accurate as the Swype and SwiftKey keyboards.  This is just my opinion,  YMMV .

Works  very well for me, especially the constructed word that moves with my finger.

The only problem I have with it is that it in some contexts (e.g. when doing a google search) it hides the suggestion bar, not allowing to choose similar words.
