Switchable single-ended/differential ADC circuit
« on: November 20, 2023, 10:38:02 pm »
Morning all,

Say I have 16 analogue inputs feeding into a 16-channel differential input ADC. I'd like for each analogue input to have +/- connectors to the device to allow for differential measurement, but also allow for single-ended inputs (using the + connector only) as well (via device configuration). Is this a common or serviceable requirement? My initial thought was to use an analogue switch, which either connected the ADC channel's negative (-) input to the (-) connector or to analogue GND. If not, is my best bet to simply provide (for example) 8 differential inputs and 8 single-ended inputs instead?

Thanks!
