T.v Problem
« on: December 15, 2013, 01:46:53 pm »
I got this Samsung ps42b430p2wxxu, Symptoms are it's clicking on and off repeatedly. I took off the cable "pic1 pen pointing too" And the tv started up. So I think im right in assuming it the y sus board at fault. The set was turned off strait away once it went bad so im gonna assume the x board is ok. looking at the y board there is no obvious fault but I did some component tests and this diode here is reading 0.0012 both ways on a diode test. surely its a faulty diode???

As it has R5058? in parallel with it and the resistor looks like it is a power resistor of around 1R it will be correct. Try using a resistance reading and you will see the resistor is a low value one. Bets are one of the drivers under the heatsink is shorted and stopping the power supply, so you need a new board there. Measure resistance of the supply rails on the board and trace the short circuit.
