Picture attachment

I made a post this morning and it wouldn't let me attach a picture as end of post thumbnail.  When I browsed for the first attachment line, it stuck my choice  as the second line, but left the first line blank.  In the end I had to put the picture inline, and ended up with "attaching 1" in the text.  What do I need to do to get it to look nice?

Use IMG and tweak on attaching the file.

I tried that, but the picture did not show up in the post at all.  I'll try again here.


Edit:  Ok it worked this time.  I guess my mistake before was to attempt to put it in the first line.  But you know, it hasn't been that long since I was able to put it in the first line successfully.  It would be a lot less confusing to everyone if that could be make to work again.  Anyway, thanks for helping me out.
