Hi,

I have obtained a 545A scope with a 1A2 plugin from my school's surplus property store. The scope is fully working which is cool but the serial for the scope is "BOB" (or maybe "B0B") and the serial for the plugin is "BOWER". I am curious as to what this means, but I can't find much information online and images of other 545A's have normal serial numbers. Is this normal for this era of scope?

Also the 1A2 plugin is a bit odd because it has the markings for the trigger selector and a trigger out bnc, but the bnc is not hooked up to anything inside, and there is no trigger select knob nor internal hardware for that feature.

Pretty neat. Never seen something like that myself.
Maybe go check with the Tekscopes group

... and if there was a prof/TA named Bob Bower in that school. A quick googling shows a Robert Bower at Caltech who probably could have used a scope.
