| Tequipment.net "In Stock" not really in stock |

I Needed to upgrade my solder station. I usually order from Amazon but I have seen several members on here ordering through tequipment.net. Coupled with the fact that eevblog members get a special discount what could go wrong? I do not live in the US and use a special freight forwarder service to get packages to me. So I ordered all my items including the highly suggested ADS200 station all showing "in stock". Only to see the following day that all my items will be shipped 3 weeks from the order date. I checked on what seem like an error with the online chat assistant. I was informed that the soldering station is causing my whole order to be delayed. The ads200 currently is still showing "in stock" on their website but it's not in stock and they seem ok with that. This seems the norm to them. Freight forwarding complicates it a little as I have to get my items reach in a window to avoid storage costs etc. Is the the normal way of business with that site? |

Typically if the item says "In Stock XX", with XX being a number, that means they have it in one of their warehouses. If it doesn't mention the matter, then it is available from their supplier. What model number ADS-200 did you order? |

There is an issue where if they don't stock it, they don't tell you that when you order it. |

I wouldn't be surprised by a goof up on this; Tequipment has history on their part status notifications. They were infamous for labeling items they do not carry anymore in their product line with the tag "Discontinued" - a common label used when the manufacturer discontinues a product, not when a rep/disty does not sell it anymore. |
