Test Equipment in Hunger Games - Mockingjay part 1
« on: November 22, 2014, 06:42:42 pm »
So I went to see the newest Hunger Games movie last night. Anybody else notice all the old school test equipment in that film? I am pretty sure I saw an Agilent/HP bench meter (maybe a 34401A?). I absolutely saw a Power Designs Precision power supply - not sure of model. Tons of other stuff that I didn't recognize - I think a lot of RFey stuff.

I did not notice the test equipment in the Mockingjay movie. However I saw Big Hero 6 a few weeks ago and I was excited to see what looked like a Fluke DMM on his desk as well as a pair of helping hands  :-+ I think it may be my new hobby to spot test equipment in movies.

There are surplus electronic vendors in the greater Los Angeles area which rent gear to move production companies as a lucrative side-job.
For example, one of my favorite vendors:  http://www.apexjr.com/Props.htm

And some vendors apparently do it as their primary business:
