Thanks CPC, very nicely packaged
HobGoblyn:
Had a jiffy bag put through the door, opened it to find my back order from CPC , very safely and securely packed, this is what I found in the bag

They seem to be employing a lower grade of monkey at CPC/Farnell nowadays.
The other day specmaster had some 9V batteries arrive from them that had been thrown in a box with some deflated air bags and no terminal protection. Result: by the time they had arrived some of them had spent enough time in contact with each other's cases long enough to have a no-load voltage of 8.8V. I guess CPC/Farnell are lucky that they didn't start a fire in their carrier's premises and end up getting sued for a few million quid's worth of damage by their insurers.
HwAoRrDk:
CPC's packing has been atrocious recently. A couple of months ago I ordered some heavy tools and also threw in a couple of LED bulbs and a fluorescent starter "while I was there".
The box was twice as large as it needed to be, with the merest hint of air pillow padding, resulting in the tools tumbling around and ripping a hole in the side during transit. The LED bulbs got trashed and the starter disappeared off on its own magical journey somewhere else.
I'll think twice in future about ordering large/heavy objects together with small items from them. Either their warehouse staff don't possess an adequate number of brain cells to figure out the physics of "heavy crushes light" or just don't give a shit.
Monkeh:
They obviously mixed your package up with mine - I got some heatshrink backordered since August in an unnecessary box.
tom66:
I ordered 10 SMD capacitors once from CPC (among other things) and they came loose in a bad like that. Given they were 0603, it was particularly hard to use them!
I don't order from CPC/Farnell now unless I get desperate -- they've screwed up too many orders.
