For everybody's information: Amazon now has the X-Chapters book up for pre-order with a due date of 31 January 2020. I don't know whether Amazon are hedging their bets with the date or whether the 1st Dec 2019 target date (as previously supplied by Winfield) has slipped. |
| rstofer:
It looks like Amazon has pushed the date to March 31, 2020. https://www.amazon.com/Art-Electronics-Chapters-Paul-Horowitz/dp/1108499945 |

Release dates are different for US Amazon and UK Amazon |

Thanks, I had heard there was a paper, but I hadn't seen it. "Improvements in the electronics", sheesh. It's hard for engineers to get credit! The experiment required me to create three complex instruments. I conceived and designed all three, and supervised my technician building them, and then years later I created a new version of the third one, and after losing my technician, hand-made one: a DC-to-10MHz 100-volt 5A laboratory power amplifier, with a 1000V/us slew rate. That's the AMP-70A, which has been explored on the DIY audio group (including a gang of fellows working with Jan Didden), and which is described in the new x-Chapter book, in section 2x.14. Here's a draft copy. https://www.dropbox.com/s/mfy58xfcv1m1inb/AMP-70A_ch-2x14_aoex-DRAFT.pdf?dl=0 Or you can explore the entire AMP-70A DIY folder: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/dno89om1uezxs8a/AACoJsLyNazSQZvE9_cTcH4Ja?dl=0 |

Thanks, that's interesting - and relevant to the ultrasonic transducer driver design I am currently pondering. In paragraph 2x.14.1, you refer to 'a complementary push-pull emitter follower Q6-Q10'. I think that should be Q7-Q10. |
