The Bic Biro: beautiful and fascinating

I’ve always loved the form and function of the Bic Biro (and they are also excellent for manually rewinding audio cassettes). Enjoy these marvellous videos:

1. It's always very kewl to see how things like this are made.
2. I don't like Bics, never have. For some reason, they're just esthetically displeasing to me. I really don't like the shape of the cap. Plus they're so ubiquitous; go into any office and they're everywhere. Too many of them!
3. That said, they're very well made, and I don't think I've ever seen a sample of one that didn't work.
4. At 1:25 in the video there are some things underneath the machines that are blurred out: why?

Fun fact. The original Biros were manufactured by Miles Aircraft Limited, for use by the RAF, during WWII. They then started selling them to the general public after the war. Miles eventually became became part of Hunting Hivolt.
