Consumer drone
« on: June 10, 2023, 07:00:35 pm »
We already outgrew the possibilities of the 30eur drone we received as a gift a few years ago. Consequently, I am on the look for some up to 200eur drone, which would include a camera. The options are numerous, but all of them, no exception, seem to be made-in-china. Whereas I am aware that some Europe based manufacturers do exist, they do not seem to be operating in this price range at all.

Are any of you aware of some non-china-made consumer drones in this price range?

Thanks!

There is no way for an EU manufacturer of anything to match the production costs of a Chinese one. The material costs, wages, various administrative & regulatory burden are vastly higher in the EU than in China. There are good reasons why all the cheap stuff you find in European shops is Made in China.

If you want Made in the EU you will need to pay (significantly) more. There is no way around it, especially not in this low cost retail space (if you even can find a consumer-oriented manufacturer in the first place). For industrial/professional applications it is a different story.

Not sure whether you have tried to price the components at any point but for 200€ you won't be able to buy even a set of motors and a controller board, even less anything with a camera if you wanted to make a drone yourself.
