The making of Tron's CGI (1982).

Among the earliest of motion picture CGI.
(CGI portion):


 :scared: No animation tools.  The animators actually wrote down a set of coordinate/angle/pitch/yaw numbers on graph paper and sent it the render house to produce the motion of the objects in the different frames.  The computer were too slow to even produce visual wire frames in any reasonable amount of speed.

 :palm: The Motion Picture Academe refused to nominate Tron for special effects because they said using computers is cheating.
