Every couple of years i build a new PC, explicitly with gaming as a main usecase.
But in contrast to the mainstream gamer prejudice, i don't really care about the looks of the machine.

If i can get a component without RGB, or even without superfluous LEDs, i will take that. Sometimes that even means paying more  :palm:
If i can't get something without lights, or the price difference is too large, i at least try to turn off as many LEDs as possible.
I generally do not care how the box looks on the inside. I do the bare minium for "neat-ish" cable management so that no loose cables can touch fan blades, but thats it.

.....

Yep, for me it is also about the gaming experience and not some flashing or color changing light setup next to the monitor or below the desk.

Not a "professional" gamer so also not to worried about high performance, which cost you an arm and a leg. Shaved of almost 100 euro on what I might get, by changing back from an I7-12700KF to an I5-12600KF. The performance difference is not that big according to this https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-12700KF-vs-Intel-Core-i5-12600KF/m1699429vsm1700734.

RGBs are the most important part of a build!

Haha, I now have built a RGB computer, even with flashy RAM sticks.
But that really was more like an accident, because I wanted water cooling - that cooler from ebay came with a display, RGB fans and controller, the case I stored away for quite some time had those (same as the cooler) RGB fans in it, adding RGB sticks from ebay ws the next logical step. It was more like "cheap on ebay, so why not" after all.
I find it somewhat entertaining, though don't really care.
