the next rigol and instek oscilloscope?!

hello,
while i searched for my first digital oscilloscope i ran into this OWON oscillscope with 100MHz bandwidth 1Gs/s 10M Record length (WOW!!) and 8" color screen for 450$ . can you tell me if it worth buying??

Actually, this specific DSO is being currently reviwed in this very blog by our fellow-EEVBlogger marmad, where some very experienced people in this department offer their invaluable views and opinions!

Apart from that, my suggestion would be to ensure that whatever you purchase is fully supported against defects, because this specific industry (and I am not talking about OWON in particular) has a very poor Quality Control --thus the very low price of their products.

I am telling you this because I happened to purchase a defective device recently and I am unable to make any claims since I got it from an unauthorized dealer.

I am also waiting for the third part of the review. I am not sure though that we will see this specific device cracked wide open any time soon; not while it is within the warranty period...

I had decided against an Owon DSO before I saw your review.
In fact they appear better than I had expected; yet to see Part 3 of course

I went for something different again.
I'll say more after it arrives ...
