Nice, enjoyable. Among all of the Mark 14's problems they didn't mention circular runs, that's when the torps guidance locks hard over and the torpedo comes back at the sub that fired it! The USN Tulibee was making a surface attack on a freighter when it sunk itself - talk about epic own goal! Single survivor was blown off the bridge and fished out of the water by the Japanese.
From what I read the Mark 24 air dropped acoustic homed in on the 24 kHz whine of the Uboat's electric motor active homing? not the prop noise. They were deadly effective.
No mention as well of the Japanese Long Lance torpedo which was a technological improvement over the comparable US equivalent.
