I came across a 2015 video, put out by the "Stanford Complexity Group", called "Self Assembling Wires"... 8) It was a bit of an incorrect 'title', (but I can see why they said it, as a fun attention getter)... It's about the use of a Petri-Dish containing some Castor-Oil, (as a slowing-down medium), and a pile of very small ball-bearings, placed at various places with-in it. THEN, after connecting a metal ring inside the 'dish' to the 'negative terminal, and a wire hovering above the centre of the dish connected to the 'positive' of a 20,000-v supply!! :scared: INTERESTING 'patterns' & joining of the ball-bearings resulted in fluid animations, of/in various paths, are created. Here's the short video.... Fascinating as it is, I could not help imagine how this is 'something-like', (pseudo), a graphical representation of how complex atoms/compounds may or might interact at a molecular Nucleus/Electron way, regarding the capture/release/joining of particles!! Just 'seems' to give that insight!! ;D |
