The average person views computers as almost magic. You move a cursor around on a screen using a mouse and can click and it does stuff. Most people have no idea how this works. Go read www.clientsfromhell.net (http://www.clientsfromhell.net) for numerous examples of how people think with computers you can click a single button and all their photoediting(or insert computer topic here) needs will be magically accomplished.

There are real ways to detect metals and such from a distance, so eventually we might be able to pack that sorta thing into a small package, but not yet.

Good page http://clientsfromhell.net/ (http://clientsfromhell.net/)
Also, on that topic> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKorP55Aqvg (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKorP55Aqvg) :-DD

I know that there are many ways to find metals and such with geological equipment and methods such as soil conductivity and all sorts of other methods. Only thing scientific about that meter is the scientific calculator  :-+ and what a waste of one.

Sadly there's not much to debunk.  :palm: The RangerTell is completely garbage. A calculator glued to a black box containing an unpowered circuit which is in no way able to provide any useful information nor does it seem to have any effect on the calculator either.

The guy (I assume it's a one man show) builds these "props" for $20 in parts and sells them for $2000 on average, say he delivers 2-3 a month, that's enough to live on. Produce 20-30 a year and if you can sell them, that's $40-60k for a few days work making these bogus devices. Not a bad bit of extra income. Sadly I see no shortage of idiots willing to part with their money. But as long as nobody sues or shows that they are breaking the law, what can be done?

And it has a 'fancy' calibration mode so it must be super accurate.  :-/O

Because of this thread i'll never be able to unread the amount of dumb i've read tonight.

Here's a short excerpt from http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/long-range-locators/181965-best-calc-examiner-2.html (http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/long-range-locators/181965-best-calc-examiner-2.html)

I don’t think so…Please tell us just how a slide rule would help the Ranger Tell?

~Woof~
The batteries would never go dead?

My Ranger Tell is powered by a HP 6S Solar calculator and my body energy…Just eat and keep the calculator in the sun light…Art

The fancy digital one. It seems that it reads your palm resistance. I can't believe the amount of effort people are making to build these devices. Just like those energy savers that Dave debunked. The best one was for the car. How the hell will a single 100uF cap reduce your gas consumption :palm: Interesting thing is using super cap bank instead of a regular car battery.

So, they computerized calculatorized and wirelessed old "Mansfields' Patent Automatic Water and Oil Finder (http://www.geotech1.com/pages/lrl/info/usgs/usgs.html)"?:-DD

P.S. "The idea was sensible, but reliability of device itself…  It clearly demonstrated by fact that device testing before purchase did not allowed"(q)"O nefty i gaze bez formul" (About oil and oil gas without formulas) in my crude translation
