I never did introduce myself anywhere but i just wanted to share how it is i've ended up here.

All my life my family has been involved in cars - sales, repairs, tuning etc. etc. Cars were always my interest. Not even just fast cars, any cars regardless of how crap or slow they were. Anyway, being a bit uninterested in school i finished aged 18 and started working in the family business. Fast forward 9 years and i'm still there although married and a bit more mature! With the country going to shit in 2008 it was finally time to get off my ass and look at getting some education.

So, being the car lover automotive engineering was what i wanted to do. No-one here offered the course and with a then pregnant wife a move to the UK wasn't an option. So, mechanical engineering it was.

First year is a common year where you then pick your discipline. Easy choice for me and i ticked mechanical on the form.

During the summer holidays with the baby getting bigger we decided to redo the tv unit enclosing everything to keep the grubby fingers off my goodies. Two weeks from returning to college and i'm putting the finishing touches to everything, all i need is an IR extender to control everything while its out of sight. One found and ordered it arrived a few days later. I wired it up and i sat there looking at it and, no exaggeration, in that instant i realised just how much of an interest in electronics i had but never ever realised

Anyway, thats my random story for today. Not sure why i thought of it but its probably a bit odd for someone not to do anything, or even realise they wanted to do anything until they were in their late 20's. Hell i never even soldered until about 18 months ago :/

Ha, i know full well its a story only of interest to me but i felt like writing about it!
