« on: August 17, 2020, 02:44:10 pm »
I was looking for a funny pictures topic, but I couldn't find any (if there is one ,feel free to move this post)

I was just browsing the known websites for vacancies and all of a sudden I bumped into this picture.
Was actually part of website of a serious company.

Like, how, why and what?  ;) ;D :-DD :-DD :-DD
Feel free to share your own funny pics as well!!!

Don't worry!
They know what they are doing.

It's quite clear that people working there know dark magic that allows them to see the electricity flowing through the circuits without any equipment.

But a bunch of people staring at the bench with some dark art stuff around them would look bad on a photo so they had to go to the  local
hardware store and buy some random equipment that regular mortals have to use. They didn't know how to connect it (and couldn't be bothered checking because of all important magic they had to do) so they just
plugged something, somewhere just for the photo.

I'm sure everything is fine. You just have to be a wizard to fit into their corporate culture.  :D

one scope probe, one multimeter probe, ground clip on the headstack arm .. and the covers off. that'll work .. ( it could if there is a groudn strap between scope and multimeter ) but you can kiss the data goodbye ..

Gotta measure that waveform of voltage between casing and arm stack on a drive that isn't plugged in.

Damn, about the only way they could make it worse is by pretending that the 3.5" disk came from the laptop.
And those nitrile gloves... who even comes up with those ideas? :scared:

I like to give the benefit of the doubt. Although improbable, maybe they're measuring the level of static buildup on the head arm, with relation to ground, in a HDD design lab. Things spinning at great speed are known to generate static.

I see no evidence of that being implied; the laptop being in the shot != the photographer implying that.  ;D

What about the poor gratuitous ConpactFlash card in the foreground? What did it ever do to be associated with such TechnoFAIL?

Rossmann uses nitrile gloves as well. Customer computers are NASTY.

They could be checking for resistance/connectivity though...

well the female one is the first instance I have seen where someone photographed a terminatrix model. Looks like she is resistance welding a control circuit for her fusion cannon.

Maybe they are measuring the actual data!  There might be a small voltage difference and they can tell how full the drive is.  :-DD

I like the fact that the probes are not plugged in, and the DMM is off.

I thought they were trying to measure chassis resistance?

That - and also the sticky flux he is using. That stuff will get all over your fingers very quickly.
