TI datasheets
PlainName:
Perhaps I've been hiding under a stone, but I just went looking for a TI datasheet for download (555 as it happens) and it ain't available. Not at RS, not at LCSC, not even at TI. What is available is an online datasheet, which is about a tenth of the value of a downloadable one.
Is this the direction the industry is taking, forcing designers/users to visit their website, or is it just TI being obnoxious?

Hmmm. Forget that - seems to be my browsers. Plural. A very recently updated Vivaldi works.
What I was seeing was the download hotlink, but clicking it just got a page saying nothing was there. Turned off all the ad-blocking (which is duplicated in Vivaldi anyway) with no greater success. The old fallback of IE didn't even get the 'nothing here' page.

Maybe you're clicking on the wrong link? I know TI has options to view their datasheets in an "online" webpage format rather than a downloadable PDF but I can see the PDF datasheet for xx555 just fine? https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ne555.pdf
I'm using Google Chrome.

I was expecting that to be one of those 'typed on a type writer and hand drawn diagrams then photocopied a few times' sorts of data sheets.

That gave me the page not found error. In fact, clicking your link gives me that.
Edit: So I get set up to look at what the browser is asking for and why it's not getting that, and blow me if that exact same URL (copied for your link) works when pasted into the address bar. Just doesn't when clicked on. Weird.
