Nike recently filed a patent for the self-lacing shoes Marty McFly uses in episode II (set in 2015), link to the article:

It's not clear to me from the drawing how the actuator to pull the laces works, I was thinking that would be the hardest part of the design. Cheers :)

The last 60 days my last electricity bill , came a bit loaded ...

I am trying  to find ways to lighten it up ,  charging shoes for self-lacing ,
its not something that I would spent money for.

imagine the hassles with airport security when your shoe xrays show up wiring and (lithium?) batteries...

I would've thought it would charge from the energy spent walking.

Seems like a pointless gimmick to me, I wonder how much a pair will cost?

sometime i think, technological advancement will make us more lazier and lazier.
but its good, to save time if we are too busy (productive) on something else.
the drawback, if you run out of battery then you will walk with unlaced shoes... or unable to unlace :o
