Good news that there are still some Radio Shack stores around the U.S.  We have many Radio Shacks around Mexico.  But, they don't sell electronic components and such (never did, as far as I can remember).  Instead, it's mostly TVs, cell phone accessories, electronic toys, etc.  Many of the items they sell can also be found in a Walmart, for a lower price.  Still, the Radio Shack stores live on -- there are 12 currently operating here in Guadalajara.

Great to see that there's still at least one in the USA.

I was in Peru this past July, and while in a large shopping center in Lima, I was surprised to stumble across a RadioShack store:

The store's primary name was "Coolbox", but it featured a big "RadioShack Authorized Distributor" sign in the window (my translation from the Spanish).  It had a wide selection of various cables, adapters, consumer audio, cell phones and accessories, unusual batteries, electronic toys, etc., with much of the merchandise carrying the RadioShack brand.  It did not carry resistors, capacitors, transistors, soldering supplies, or other supplies for building or repairing of electronic devices.  Oh well.  I noticed several other Coolbox/RadioShack stores in other places around Peru.
