I watched a documentary on that place.

The guy filming it was from London and the guys who work the dump said "yes, sure we have stuff from the UK" turns out they found a load of stuff with labels on from the guys local Currys or PC World or whatever it was. They guys stripping the copper and breaking the electronics stuff down said loads of their stuff comes from the UK.
One of the guys who was burning the plastic off the copper had a cough, he went to the doctor and they told him "keep doing that and your dead real soon". No if's or but's 100% dead soon!

How in heavens name did this place get 3.3 out of 5 stars?  Is a scrap yard all that good a place?

If they only were recycling metals, that would be an excellent thing to do.

The problem is plastics, they are heavily bonded with some valuable metals (think electrical wire) and the only way to separate them easily is to burn them, releasing toxic fumes.

It's dreadful indeed how some of our waste gets "recycled".
It's also a video from "Russia Today", so there may be a bit of political spin on top of the real ugliness.
