Transplanting AC Option -09 from Fluke 8840 to 8842?
« on: October 04, 2012, 11:05:45 pm »
I've attempted the above transplant of the AC option module, only to find that my instrument is still giving me error 30 when trying to do any AC measurements. Is there any magic required in telling my meter that it now has the new option installed? the installation seems rather simple- one ribbon cable and one power lead.

I am being told the pinout actually differs slightly between option 9 module in 8840 and 8842. Upon closer examination, it appears that pins 1 and 8 are swapped. They are AC_SENSE and CS4. Now, why would they do such a silly thing? :)
