Boom.

That's the same as Dave selling the forum to the Group Fortive and then you say that most of the users own or owned a product from one of the companies that compose the Group Fortive so it's OK and the fit is unnecessary.

One thing doesn't take to the other...

A friend convinced me to try it out around 10 years ago, I deleted my account after a day and never looked at it again. It strikes me as a highly toxic cesspool of echo chambers and mobs.

I know a few of the sort of people who use Twitter.

In short, it's exactly how you described it, and it's a feature rather than a bug. Twitter attracts nutters who see themselves as changing the world with political agitation and lets them meet similar nutters of the same or opposite polarity and agitate each other ad nausea. You go there for the thrill of experiencing first hand just how many scary communists/nazis (whichever applies) really exist out there, exchanging a bunch of memes and insults, blocking and reporting those you don't like and leaving the interaction absolutely convinced that your side have won and you left the world a better place.

It's obvious it's not about money, but purely political. Twitter is currently aligned to one political party. I hope Musk will make it more neutral, but he'll probably just push it to the opposite political leaning.

:palm: As if it will be used any worse than now. As if currently Twitter and other social media are owned by some innocent saints and not billionaires including Saudis.

I'm not a Twitter user so I have no idea what might be right or wrong now, or what might be fixed or broken.  Perhaps Justin Bieber will lose thousands of followers.  Or something else horrific.  It is interesting that what appears to be a very modest communication application has achieved such importance.

more like fear that "bad opinions" and things that haven't been signed off by the ministry of thruth, won't be suppresed ....
