Twitter Hackage

At face value, this would seem to have a neocon motivation. Embarras the liberal twitterarty. Involving Obama would mandate the Secret Service though? 8)

As for those payments? The Feds will be watching the blockchain. And you can track the culprits BTC address transactions too on

:-DD

How much do you think it would take to bribe a Facebook employee to gain access to private pics of a random user? Asking for a friend :P

You really think there is a MASTER erm internal admin panel - something perhaps inspired by the Wizard of Oz.  "Now dis here is da internal admin panel - dont touch nun of dem buttons".

They always come up with some largely BS explanation in the hope people will just get over it quickly.

magic:
Well, they don't flat-out deny that those screenshots are genuine, just ban people for posting them ::)

Maybe not "the panel" but "a panel", but they clearly must have internal UIs for customer support, cenmoderators etc.

Fun fact: you have no idea how many employees of your favorite social network have how much access to your account.

...and now the all-too-common followup saying that it was much worse than originally thought....and with no real information.

Twitter's massive hack could be even worse than it seems https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/16/tech/twitter-hack-security-analysis/index.html

"It blamed a "coordinated social engineering attack" against some of its employees who had access to "internal systems and tools"

In a week or two, buried somewhere outside of the mainstream media will be some more information; drip, drip, drip,. Then the Congressional inquiries. How many times do we seem to go through the same breach behavior?

RenThraysk:
"hackers breached employee Slack accounts and found credentials for the Twitter backend pinned inside a Slack channel"

Passwords on virtual post-it notes, which are entrusted to a third party. What could possibly go wrong?!  ::)
