Makes sense. |

--- Quote from: LaryPant on December 08, 2020, 11:39:59 pm ---Does it make sense to call it a complement converter? Because I am teried of having to write "Two's complement to One's complement converter" every time I mention it - it makes for a very dull read. --- End quote --- The standard practice for complicated descriptions is to describe it fully at the beginning, then naming the short form, and using the short form for the rest of the paper. For example: This paper describes a circuit converting between Two's Complement and One's Complement integer representations (henceforth complement converter). It's simple, unambiguous, and you only need to use the full name in the title, abstract, and the first paragraph of the body. As to the circuit itself, don't forget that not all integers are negative. (I mean, the representation of positive integers is the same in both conventions.) Also do consider what you want to do with value or values that can only be represented in one, but not the other. |
