Hi Folks,
Just wondered if anyone else (apart from me) attended the Electronics / Embedded / Engineering design show this year? (Just got back from Coventry).
Just wondered what people thought of it more than anything.
I attended last year, seemed bigger this year.
I headed over to the Altium / Premier EDA desk and asked about Circuit Maker, Premier EDA for those who don't know is Altiums main distributor (if not only) in the UK, the sales guy I spoke to basically said it was a gimmick, gave me a USB stick with Altium on and a business card for a free 30 day trial of "a professional design tool". That was the end of my CM enquiries! lol.
It should be called Electronic sales guy show, there doesn't seem to be anything new on the market that I haven't already seen, shame really.
The talks were a bit rubbish, I attended one and it was about "Securing the IoT", and it was some guy waffling on about complete rubbish for 45/50 minutes and the jist of it was, if you use WiFi to connect your IoT device use WPA or WPA2 over WEP....

I thought that was obvious!
A talk on an IPAD driven car (completely pointless as it turns out), question was what happens if you lose your IPAD, answer.....If you have a IPhone and you have the app then use that, if not, tough, call the breakdown.
I shouldn't have been surprised as I went last year, but I got more out of last years show, the only thing I got this year was free pens and mugs.
