Uni-t UN210e OLD TEST DATE
« on: October 09, 2021, 07:54:49 pm »
Today I just received my order of a Uni-T UT210e.

A few things caught my attention.

1. The test date for the device is April 2020.

2. 2 x AA batteries were already fitted, both are showing 1.56v.

3. On the rear of the device there is no serial number sticker in the area that is designated for said sticker.

Cursory testing of some functions results are OK.

£42.00 from Amazon, would anything I've mentioned cause any bells to ring for any of you folks?

Things tend to get made in bulk then dribble out of the stockroom over time, so the manufacturing date isn't too important. Pre-fitted batteries are fine, but should perhaps have some isolation tab to remove so they're not powering anything until you open the box.

I just checked my 210e and that also has no serial number sticker. AFAIA it is a pukka item (and works well). I don't think there is likely to be anything dodgy about yours.

The other month my new Kewtech KEW1052 arrived. The certificate of calibration was dated 29,Jan,2014 - someone must have been superstitious, I guess.
