Uninformed, hyper-hyper positive "reviews" of Fire TV sticks etc
eti:
:palm: ::)
It's usually self-proclaimed "tech revoo-ers" (I mean the prefix "tech" just rings alarm bells when EVERYONE prepends it to their supposed "title")who review these HORRENDOUS Amazon "Fire TV" sticks and boxes.
I'm incredulous that there's barely anyone online willing to call out these truly useless devices for the donkey shit that they are, probably because they're having them thrown at them by Amazon to "review" or are so enthralled with the ability to sideload pirate movie apps onto them that they are blinded to the GLARING ERRORS and constantly evident lack of good hardware design / decent, bare minimum of reliable functionality.
What's the matter with the world? All people seem to care about is clicks, likes, subscriptions and $$$. Has ALL uncommon sense and actual integrity been tossed out of the window, in favour of superficial online "image" and how one's - ahem - "reputation" can be bolstered by the 98% of sheep believing that life is ALL POSITIVE because some bloke on YouTube said the device is amazing, and so did 30 other "tech" channels?
(One obvious thing of note is that they certainly must lack any worthwhile amount of "tech" knowledge - too much positive feedback causes instability, if my recent op amp education has taught me anything.)
Wow... moronic is the modern normal eh? But the smaller percentage of actual engineers outside the consumer junk space can see right through this rubbish, but because the greater percentage aren't that smaller percentage, we see an echo chamber of saccharin sweet, sickly hyper positivity being set up where a standing wave of "awesome, amazing bro!" oscillates back and forth as it reflects off each facet of the community of online "tech re-vooers"
|O
How did society get to such a state where the masses blindly believe that the bubble of online, unqualified "tech" channels must be telling the truth, because they're the loudest ones?
It angers me that people are sucked dry of their hard earned money for such drivel, and that they unquestioningly believe morons stating things.
Oh sorry, by the way... summary: Amazon "Fire" range of products are shite. Avoid.
If you know in your heart that you're winging it, and fooling people and that's "good enough" to you, because you have clicks + $$$ then you're a fool, because someone's gonna buy something on your say so, find out it's utter trash and then never trust you again. Also they'll compare notes with others online, mention your channel between themselves, laugh (or rant) about you and you'll be blacklisted as lacking education in said subject, or just being a plain good old fashioned shill.
Ed.Kloonk:
I don't know about fire sticks, but in my part of the world, I could really use a rain stick.
Echo88:
Shh, show me on this doll where did the bad tech revoo-ers hurt you.

Look, I can be also emotional and vocal. I've been trying to get this under control for a while. People typically know me for ranting about new electronics and bul$hit trends. Just few days ago I went mad because of the Type-C which I hate. I also hate FW/feature updates, the 16:9 aspect ratio, Windows 10, social networks and people in general. :-DD
However, following lines will drive you mad even more. I bought Fire TV Stick 4k some months ago and I love it. After long time this is a product that works well (together with my Garmin Instinct Solar). I have six years-old Samsung smart TV. Tizen OS is insanely slow and apps are limited. I like Fire TV stick 4k for:
* I use Smart Tube for playing Youtube documentaries/videos. Reasons are obvious
* I use VLC for accessing my home NAS
* One remote rules them all
* I can use Surfshark VPN to get access for the content that is available in my home country that I don't live in
* No rooting, no hacking, no BS
* note: I use content from Netflix and Prime
* Never failed on me (e.g. shutdowns, reboots, etc.]
So that is that.
