USB-C (PD) to DC adapters: do they exist?

Are there adapters that can take power from a USB-C (with support for PD) and output a certain DC voltage to a standard barrel jack?

I have a common 19v laptop and I would like charge it from the chubby USB-C power bank that I carry with me when I travel.

I know that USB-PD can deliver 19 volts, but only after an handshake. Are there adapters that perform this handshake and then provide the requested voltage to a standard barrel jack?

HKJ tested one. Just put a DC barrel connector on the output.

So the "technical" term is trigger, not adapter.

Unless your power bank can output full power your laptop takes from it's charger, it won't work. There is no way to tell it to consume less power. Otherwise if you force profile 4 or 5 to output 20V, it will work completely fine with a laptop specified for 19V.

It's from that fact that you need to perform negotiation with the PD source to get the higher voltage. If the board has a local boost converter then it would be correct to call it an adapter.

Really? Usual laptop (without USB-C charging capability) with buck converters will somehow develop boost converters inside itself?

I built something like that a few years ago.

There's a few devices available now (USB-PD buddy for example), although I don't think I've seen any consumer-ready versions.
