Use wifi from phone on android tv box

I am 2.5 meters away from the router but wifi is so slow it downloads at like 30kb-40kb a second box is only used for emulators but i need wifi to download box art retroarch cores ect i cant hook it up to ethernet as there is no safe place to run a cable

Is it possable to use my old andoid phone via usb to teather it to the android box to use it with the phones wifi i did this before on an old pc that had no wifi and it worked not sure if i can do it on an android tv box

Sorry... I don't understand what you are saying...
There are 'unmetered' Broadband links, that are only limited by the degree of service from your Provider.
Then there are 'Metered' links, like over a 'Cell-Tower' for the likes of mobile phones that are out of range...
'Tethering', is a method of utilizing another linked service, but that is ONLY at the speed/data allowance of
the 'service'/'phone' that you are 'tethering' to???
This has nothing to do with the Broadband link that you have & can use via your broadband provider?????
Diagonal of 1x1 square = Root-2. Ok.
Diagonal of 1x1x1 cube = Root-3 !!!  Beautiful !!
