OT: Trying to find an old 2d multi character rpg game?

So, finally got a psp, hacked it, and loaded it with emulators and modifications/other useful programs, and now I am trying to remember an old game I played a bit at a friends place on a PC emulator.

Don't recall much but it was a 2D, maybe 2.5d though I doubt it, pixelly multi charcter RPG, you first went around and chose the characters you wanted to make your team of three or four (think it was three) and in battle you were positioned on the left I think. It was fairly in depth. I'd love to get this on my PSP but I can't recall what it was. Maybe you guys have some ideas and can send me links with pictures of the battle screen and the inventory/magic menu? I'd probably recognize that.

Yes, FF7 was a huge hit on the Sony stuff.
Great game, that Sephiroth was a cad!

Just had a look and the version on the PSP was called "Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII".
