Congrats. That's quite a scope for your first one!

I hope your wife and dog are getting equally nice presents!

No kidding, haha; you're using a AA batteries for power and what appears to be a radioshack-esque multimeter, and yet you have a multi-thousand dollar oscilloscope... I think you got your priorities mixed up.

I can't quite see the model number in the photo, which one is it? Who did you buy through and how much? I have been drooling over the Agilents because if I am going to spend the money, I'm gonna get the best! I really want the 3000 series, but may have to settle for the 2000.

Merry Christmas

Chris

I'm gonna take a stab and say he got the DSO-X 2012A - base price $1494 USD.  The 3012A has the probe sensors whereas the 2012A does not.

Grats!! Don't mind the haters. They're just jealous.;) (I kid!)

Your priorities are your own, but I'd say you've made a fine decision nonetheless. Power supplies can be breadboarded on demand, measurement confidence can be waived, and parts can be scrounged, but you simply can't put a price on the convenience and utility of having a real (and very nice!) scope.

Congrats on your new scope. You're going to love it. I bought an MSOX3024 a month ago and can't seem to keep my hands off of it. It's a joy to use.

My msox-3024 is waiting at my local dhl office when I get home.  :) I was considering an earlier flight but do not think my wife would agree to that plan.....
