Unless the images of food items replicate the actual location of those items on the shelves inside the fridge i would be very annoyed.
-
Oh, great. Now I'll have to go the long way around the store to pick up my prescription refills.
-
You already have to do that. Why else do you think that they have the one-way lanes going in and out of most stores? It's like going through a maze with only one way in and one way out so that they can make you walk by as many impulse-buy item displays as possible.
Walmart gas stations (Murphy brand) tried something similar a few years ago. Every time that you went to one of their pumps, an add on box on the pump started BLARING an audio and video commercial for an expensive gasoline additive. I noticed that it didn't take long before people started smashing the video screens and buttons on them. None of the Murphy stations in my area still have them.

I can see what they may do one day is put up "things" on the ceilings or use drones to track your movement in the store and beam rays of light in front you to pester you with adverts on the floor space and speak to you about buying things.
-
Would that make a 1W blue laser an 'opt-out' option?
-
Would you like to buy more packs of GUM?!
Why YES!
*chew-chew-chew SPLAT!*
ERROR: VISION IMPARED!
