Want microscope picture to compare different LCD technologies
(1/1)
Logan:
Hi friends.
I have been trying to understand the real physical difference among major LCD panel types, such as TN/IPS/VA.
There are tons of articles online explaining the difference, but the best are only with simulated pictures, which leaving me still confused after years.
Do you guys happen to have any good source of real microscope photos comparing different LCD panels?
Thanks!

Thank you for replying.
But this is not what I want...
Please look at the 5 sample pictures, I want something showing structure like those, but with real photos.
Thanks.

Those structures are transverse to the panel, so I suspect the only way you'd get them would be to destroy a panel by cutting a piece out and looking at it that way.  That might be difficult given the panel is often made of tempered glass that's difficult to cut precisely, and the panel is not continuously glued together (usually it is just at the edges and the glass keeps it rigid, though the polariser is glued on continuously as it is made of plastic), so keeping the parts in alignment for a photograph would be difficult.  And all you would see is glass components.  The LC is a mostly translucent liquid (and it's toxic, so you want to avoid getting that anywhere).
