Always double check shopping cart prices
« on: September 29, 2013, 08:44:03 am »
I'm wondering if anyone else was/is affected by this pricing issue on the RS Components website - the product price says one thing but the shopping cart says another thing? (I've just emailed RS about this issue)

By the looks of things, it's affecting these parts (there are probably more):
773-7699
773-7847
773-7709
773-7692
686-9385
686-9331
773-7803 (Ordered last month and found out today that I was charged $1.1 per chip)

Cheers,
Alex

I know if you leave stuff in the cart (at other places) and the price increases in the meantime you have to watch out, but this seems like a very odd error.

Checked 773-7699 on the NZ RS site and same issue with it, price on the details page $0.18ea, price when you add to the cart, $0.841ea

Are you sure you are looking at the right multiple price?

RS charges less per unit when bought in bulk. eg RS may charge $1 per widget from 1 - 4 widgets; 80 cents per widget for 5 - 19 widgets and 50 cents per widget for 20 widgets upwards.
You can do anything with the right attitude and a hammer.

Digikey 10 off price is $0.57. A reel of 2500 is still $0.21 so I would say the basket price is the correct one.

Still an annoying and strange bug. Let us know what they say about it.

Just tested on Italian RS site: no errors, the one-off price for 773-7699 is 0.41 Euros and the basket price is 4.10 euros for the 10 pieces minimum order.
Best regards

Hmm looks like they've fixed it now, didn't receive any emails back from them.

Another item to add to the list of things to check on:

Even though the anti-static bag says one thing - don't count on it. I received some 128Kbit EEPROMs which were marked as "512Kbit model" on the static bag from RS! :-\
