What happened to Redskull?

I know he argued a lot but it kept general interesting and he would have some pretty good input to technical problems too. Did he get banned or something?

Blueskull, and he requested to be forgotten, and Dave complied with the request.

I believe Captain America kicked his back.

Without getting political, no he didn't. I believe it was related to his own country.

I don't disagree with what was done.  Does it matter that the CCP was potentially involved?  Will EEVBlog extend the same courtesy to anyone who feels a need to be erased?  Hopefully, the reason won't matter and as a corollary, erasure is absolutely permanent.

Yeah, it was a few years ago, but I dont think I was technically wrong.

Quote
As Red Skull watched on, both Black Widow and Hawkeye decided to sacrifice themselves for the Stone, leading to them attempting to subdue each other with all their weaponry, until Black Widow was finally able to throw herself to her death, allowing Hawkeye to obtain the Soul Stone. However, before Red Skull was able to be freed from his curse, Captain America returned the Stone following the Battle of Earth, leaving this version of Red Skull trapped on Vormir.

He decided to leave, there is a thread discussing it somewhere. If people were capable of discussing topics here without constantly bringing up politics, he'd likely still be around. But there could be other reasons behind it as well.

I'm just sad that, to my knowledge, no one actually called him "redskull".  He wore the red flag quite prominently, it's not even a dig/offensive (well, maybe so from the literary connotation, which is amusing for other reasons; but, I digress.)  But yes, it seems he succumbed to international tensions, more or less directly related to that very same subject.  So, yeah...

He was a very sharp individual, and could give pretty accurate advice, if he was in the mood to do so.

OTOH, he had a large chip on his shoulder, displaying an open disdain, an almost hateful and very combative stance on any topic related to China vs the West.

If I recall correctly, he obtained his PhD on an American university. That didn’t prevent him from spewing vitriol to anything related to the USA.

Your memory is a bit skewed. You wouldn't get a USA PhD if you didn't at least respect the education system of the university you are going to.
Anyway, this is an electronics forum, for discussing electronics and their related subjects. If people want to talk politics, take it to facebook or somewhere else.

I found the rants refreshing, revealing the indoctrination citizens receive. Where he threatened to report forum members to theccp as retaliation for pointing out issues in his homeland, well that was too much he should have been banned at that point. Hard when the nationalism is programmed at an early age as they do over there.
His knowledge of power electronics was excellent though.

I won't comment on how this all this went down, suffice it to say it was not pleasant. I complied with his request for removal of all his content for the good of everyone involved and this forum. He promised not to return, and I believe he will uphold that.

erasure is absolutely permanent.

On this forum database, yes. On the Internet, probably not, there are sites that archive the forum posts I'm sure.

That only happened after his visa application to stay in the US was declined. The guy got mad ...

I enjoyed hearing things from his perspective, it was absolutely fascinating and I mean that sincerely. You gotta respect the hustle as well.

I also recognised his display picture as a character from Love Live so that made him stand out to me (a niche series in Japanese anime/game culture).  :P

Only slightly more niche than Imas :P I think they're both fairly popular in Asia.

It made him realize what America's priorities are and why no intelligent young man has any business being there.
I came to similar conclusions in early 2010s.

Once he got in USA, he thought that CCP is shit and embraced American culture. But after being there for a while he changed his opinion, I even remember his words explaining that.
Quote
Wait a minute
He realized that American system is rotten even more, just in a different way. And when he relocated back to China, screws in his head moved and he embraced CCP as if it was the salvation.

I enjoyed having him around, for all the reasons already mentioned. But he frequently reminded me of the Sergeant Major in this scene ... and in particular of the DJ's parting words to him.

His problem was getting trolled too easily.

Too many idiotic China-hater USA patriot trolls poked at him too often. When his culture was offended, he replied back, sometimes in the same manner i.e. counterattack, which is obviously a clear mistake as it doesn't help anything but offers the trolls more weapons against him.
