Just got this about 5 minutes ago in my personal email, sent by the board I think.  Looks like someone set up an account to spam board members.  I expect others will see this soon.

Yes, it happens, but I've not received any for awhile. When I did receive one, I forwarded it on to Dave and Simon and the perpetrator was banned.

I was going to do that but there was no 'forward' button on the email and the fact that no user name showed up I thought it might be better to chime in here.  They can just look at my inbox with all in tact to do the forensics.

Have you checked your actual personal box On the Forum site to make sure it came from the board and was not crafted?

I was getting email redacted but just noticed it does show up as the user name also in the listing.  I'd overlooked that.  Don't use the messaging system often.

It came through via email because mine is set up to notify me for personal messages.

Well the sender should show up either on the email or in your PM's. I bannedf someone this morning sending messages like that.
