What IC is this? USB 3W audio amp pcb
(1/1)
Tsardoz:
OK I bought a USB speaker I think I identified as this one

as it has sort of the same model number as the PCB (see photo)
Image did not attach properly - I dont know how to do this

The problem is, when driving it with a Raspberry Pi sometimes the sound is very distorted, slow and a bit quiet.
I think the problem is with USB DAC/CODEC.
I want to track the problem down but first I would like to identify the ICs but the numbers have been erased.
Given the pinout of the 8 pin amplifier it looks to be an 8002 or similar (pins 5 and 8 connected to the speaker).
The USB DAC is much harder to identify. It looks like pins 13 and 14 are wired to the amp via R/C.
Yet I cannot find a chip that meets these specs.
Probably some cheap Chinese knockoff.
This board might have the same IC but again no visible identifcation.

Any ideas?

Maybe similar:

Tsardoz:
Thanks.
It is not that one due to pincounts but it is a great idea.
I had not considered usb mp3 players.
