Hi
just choosing new cables to the workshop to replace annoying old PVC ones - they are so stiff (when not outside on direct sun)

Might stick with H07BQ - PUR seems nice light and flexible and as a bonus are available in a huge variety of colors  >:D

What cables do you use? Just the cheapest PVC ones or something fancy?

btw I recently saw an interesting marketing BS: Copper clad aluminum cable is good because is much lighter than a copper one  :-DD

I like the neoprene rubber ones the best. I think I have used a PUR sheeted cable for a new mains cable on my compressor but I found it very easy to cut so I'm worried that it may not last that long.

There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

cheapo PVC suits me just fine. The stiffness prevents it getting hung up when being dragged around table legs and such  :-+

Have a look at those: https://elektron-berlin.de/en/produkte/wires-cables/
Not cheap, but excellent cables for extension cords. Price for 3G2,5 is around 2,5€/m, but you must buy 100m. They make custom print on every meter, for example your company name (this is included in price and is not extra!).

Resistivity of aluminum is 58% more than copper, but 3.3 times lighter. So... if you could get around those pesky oxidation and bending issues with some kind of special alloy, maybe I could see it being good advertising.
