Just order what you need, when you need, that is my advice.

Saying this because I still have some TTL ICs bought during the 90s, for "just in case".  30 years later, that "just in case" never happened.  They cost more back then, they took space to store and time to handle around the lab, they took time to make an inventory of them, etc.  Overall, stock is more a drag than a savior.  Not to mention how many times I've agonized searching for hours something I knew I have, and how many times I had to buy again the same part only because I couldn't find it.  ;D

Then, there is the tendency to design with what you have on stock instead of using the proper fit for your new ideas, which may limit or cripple new designs.

Then, it's a bad moment to stock on electronics right now.  Parts are about 5 times more expensive, and it is expecting for the prices to come to be lower and come to normal in the future.
