1956 is squarely in the era of germanium transistors; they certainly were not making many germaniums in 1969!

However, the original datasheet indicates the correct transistor pinout - CBE. Perhaps you have come across an incorrect datasheet with the EBC marking.

"MAY" appears to be comprised of two bucks which power the flash controller cores (there are 3 cores).

"BC2G" and "AM2K" (?) are two step-down converters which produce 1.2V and 1.8V (?).

I'm wondering whether "MAY" could be a custom PMIC by Marvell. The controller is a Marvell 88SS1093.

Unfortunately, the photos of the chip cases are not very clear...

Agreed, but that's all I'm going to get. This same guy used to post images that consisted of illegible black rectangles until I shamed him into throwing away his potato camera.
