What's your adult beverage of choice?
« on: November 25, 2013, 05:27:54 am »
I just sort of thought of this today, what does everyone drink?

I tend towards the higher alcohol beers, or wine.  I like a nice red wine in the winter or a white in the warmer months.

As far as hard liquor, I don't usually have it that often, but I guess the one I can handle the best it tequila. Which is strange as that seems to be the doing-in of many people.  Rum is ok, vodka tends to give me heartburn, whiskey and bourbon are ok, but I tend to prefer them mixed.

I guess I don't have really expensive tastes, but I did have a bottle of Patron and Don Julio Tequila one night shared with a VP at the company I worked about 10-15 years ago that were really nice.

As far as beer, I like dark beer, Guinness is what I'll "treat" myself to every once in a while. I like bock beers. Shiner Bock is a beer that I like and it's made in Texas where I live so that's good.

I'll admit I frequently buy the cheap 10% 2 for $3 beers at the gas station (buzz in a can), but it's the best alcohol per dollar rating outside of a $7 bottle of whiskey.

A good dark beer like an imperial stout, or anything Belgian -- Westmalle or Rochefort especially.  Sadly, those are a lot more rare and expensive here in California than they were when I lived in the Netherlands.  Really anything dark.

I don't drink spirits much, but I do like whiskey.

Water, tea, Kofola (local beverage, very good), the occasional coffee. I avoid alcohol of all types.

Coffee. Drink it all the time. Delicious :).

As for alcohol, I only drink this on occasions, like once per month, or even once per two months. I like beer, and I usually just have my Dad's homebrew. Its tasty, and isn't very fizzy :). I tend to have a couple of bottles of Leffe at Christmas.

I do normally find that I am quite good at soldering when I've had a pint  :-/O.

Any kind of beer, but from small local breweries normally no one out of Germany has ever heard of.
The "big ones" (Beck's and so on...) are just disgusting :--

My favorite local brewery is a restaurant with their little brew-kettle in the guest room. Especially their dark-beer i very delicious. ;D

Normally I also never say no to a good Whisky (without "e" ) :)

Nice topic for an EE forum! I guess I'll save it for reference, try to taste all the suggestion to pick up a favorite! :)

I go for beer, mostly any type, but I love Jack Daniels, no ice, although I take it only once in a while! Also like cold Amarula Cream when desiring something sweeter.

There is this bar, 3 minutes walk from home, they have 800 different type of beers. They are working on increasing the number to 2000. I cannot try everything on tap, because they change that all the time (15 tap or something). As you might say: "Resistance is futile"

Wine, if possible. Or a beer or two if I'm out with some friends who are also having some.

Soda 3-4 times a year. That shit is toxic, though sometimes I cave.

Depends what the other half is.

My goto beer is Guinness extra stout, but the version we get it the states is a different brew than other countries.  The funny part is that it's brewed in Canada then imported, presumably so they can continue to print "Imported" on the label.  If I am drinking something else then it's probably something I've never had, or only had a few times.  A lot of German stuff, but mostly local brews.  There are 2 microbreweries in my town, and probably a hundred or more along the west coast.

The harder stuff is usually Wild Turkey, a 101 proof bourbon common in the US.
Please hit my ignorance with a big stick.
